needle felted Pinky. . . . again ( additional pic)

So far it's going okay except Pinky won't let me look at her head anymore, I have to use my Flickr photo's :-)
Sometimes I want to make something big. . . like life size.
I try to make the owls and gnomes (!?) life size but I wanted really big his time.
Pinky is my ideal model but I think the amount of work to make her really life size is too much right now.
So I decided to make just her head. It might sound creepy to have just a head but I think of it as a portrait, like a painting.
I made a pattern and sewed it from felt, stuff it with wool and needle felt wool onto the head.
Pinky sighs and I laugh, given her an extra cookie. . . .

She gave me the stinky eye :-)
So far I'm having fun

to be continued. . . . .

  1. LOL! Oh my this is really something Helen! ha ha ha....a two headed Pinky! I love it and you are brilliant to make a pattern in felt and then needle felt on top of it because that helps with time. Many of us cannot make a pattern like you do, and do it this way because we have no concept of how to create a correct felt pattern as a base! You are truly remarkable on how you use this talent mijn vriendin!

  2. Oh wow, that is quite strange but very cute at the same time! 2 headed Pinky. :D Pinky makes a beautiful model, she is lovely. I think most pets wouldn't be too happy about having a version of themselves so close, they would growl and bite at the poor thing, but not Pinky! :D

  5. There is darling Pinky! I think you will end up making a life-size Pinky eventually! Meanwhile, the Pinky head is turning out great. Please hug Pinky for me!

  6. Your felty Pinky is wonderful as is the real Ms. Pinky. She's so patient. Bullet would've torn it apart. Anything that looks like a toy has to have it's nose bitten off after being tossed in the air a few times.

  8. HAHAHHAHAHA!!! I'm sure when Felt Pinky grows, Real Pinky will NOT want to share her couch! Right now it's okay...since she is just a head. But TWO Pinkys on the couch will probably be one too many! As EVERYONE has already said, YOUR Talent BLOWS ME AWAY and you are Absolutely AMAZING!!!!
