Making a felt doll part 1

I'm going to show you how I make a felt doll.
First I make the head, if the head turns out good, I make the body.
I don't particularly like making the body but if I like the head I can't wait to make her/him a body.
Front of the head.I'm checking the profile
The head is sewn together and now I needle felt a small pompom to fill in the nose.
With a invisible ink marker I draw the features

I'll paint the features with Gesso first

Time for a cup of coffee and a stroopwafel-cookie, in the meantime the gesso will dry.
I paint her features with acrylic paint and Pastel
Here she is, she has come to life and I gave her ears immediately, cause I wanted  to tell her how sweet she is.

I can't wait now to make her a body, tomorrow I'll show you!

  19. Love your beautiful dolls. Please can you tell me if you set the pastel on the face with a sealant or anything ? I would be afraid of the pastel coming off the felt. Thank you so much, and Happy New Year !
